Install safely
Open the DMG, drag SoLoScreenSnap to Applications, and launch it there. If the current release is not Apple-notarized, macOS may require System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway. Only use the installer linked from this site and compare its checksum.
Run the NSIS installer from this site. If the current release is intentionally unsigned, SmartScreen may show Unknown publisher. Choose More info → Run anyway only after verifying the checksum and download host.
Install the AppImage or Debian package, then install wmctrl and xdotool. Wayland launches in limited mode because it does not expose general third-party window movement.
macOS permissions
Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and enable SoLoScreenSnap. Screen Recording is used for window thumbnails when available. If you replaced the app with a new build, remove the old permission row, reopen SoLoScreenSnap from Applications, and approve it again.
Background operation
Closing the main window keeps shortcuts and snapping active. Reopen the interface from the tray or menu-bar icon, by launching the app again, or with CommandOrControl+Alt+S. To stop it completely, choose Quit SoLoScreenSnap from the tray or menu-bar menu.
Layout troubleshooting
Confirm the intended layout is shown and active in Layout builder. Keep at least one visible layout. If a window lands close to a zone but cannot match its size, the application may enforce a larger minimum size. SoLoScreenSnap should report a constrained fit.
Diagnostic log
Choose Open snap diagnostics in the app to view the local structured log. Reproduce the problem once, note the time, and share only the relevant lines. Review the content before sending it because window titles may identify work you had open.
Report a bug
Include the SoLoScreenSnap version, operating system version, display count and scaling, target application, selected layout and zone, expected result, actual result, and whether it happens every time. A short screen recording is helpful when it does not expose private information.
