Manual bootstrap: Version 0.1.0 does not contain the updater. Install 0.2.0 manually from the verified download page. Future releases can update automatically from this version.
Highlights
- Quiet update checks shortly after startup.
- A manual Check for Updates… action in the app and tray menus.
- Installed and target versions shown before download.
- Download and installation progress with a clear relaunch result.
- Signed metadata, pinned-key verification, and exact payload hash checks.
Platform notes
A native helper validates the archive, bundle identity, version, and code signature before same-volume replacement. It restores the previous app if installation or relaunch fails.
The signed update envelope and downloaded NSIS installer are verified before installation. The public manifest continues to disclose the Authenticode status while trusted signing is being provisioned.
The app directs users to verified AppImage and Debian packages. It does not claim a universal in-app replacement flow.
How to check
Open the SoLoScreenSnap application or tray menu and choose Check for Updates…. When the installed version is current, the manual check shows that version. Startup checks remain quiet unless an update or actionable error needs attention.
Integrity
Use only downloads under downloads.soloscreensnap.sololink.cloud. Public updater payloads are checked for exact byte count and SHA-256 before their signed feed is promoted. User-facing checksums remain available in the checksums file.
