Highlights
- Create layouts with up to 12 non-overlapping zones.
- Order layouts in the overlay and hide layouts without deleting them.
- Drag windows to the top, left, or right edge and drop on a target.
- Keep snapping active after the main window closes.
- Reopen from the tray, menu bar, app launch, or
CommandOrControl+Alt+S.
Platform notes
Requires Accessibility permission. Screen Recording is used for thumbnails. This release may use bypassable signing until Developer ID and notarization are provisioned, so follow the verified Open Anyway guidance on the support page.
Elevated target applications can only be moved by an equally elevated SoLoScreenSnap process. An intentionally unsigned build may trigger SmartScreen until Authenticode signing is provisioned.
Requires wmctrl and xdotool. Wayland runs in limited mode and does not claim arbitrary third-party window movement.
Known limitations
- Some apps enforce a minimum window size larger than a selected zone. SoLoScreenSnap uses the nearest constrained fit and reports it.
- Platform packages must be built and verified on their owning native machines. Source tests on one operating system are not release proof for another.
- Code signing and notarization status is disclosed per artifact in the public manifest and support guidance.
